Commissioned by the City of Richmond and HKS Architecture Firm, Hamilton Glass work with local Hillside court community members to design and execute the two basketball courts shown above. Community engagement paint days were also apart of the execution of this project.
Hamilton Glass worked with the students and surrounding community around Martin Luther King Jr Middle School to create a 25' x 150' Mural on the two walls of the east end of the MLK bridge. This mural served to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination with a permanent and powerful community effort that proclaims Dr. King’s many messages and properly commemorates his life.

Fresh Paint is a exhibition in the Virginia Museum of History in Culture that explored the power of murals to encourage reflection on Virginia’s past by inviting artists to produce works inspired by one or more historical items from the museum’s collection, and in so doing examine our present and inspire us to think about ways we can shape the future.

The concept was derived from site visits to the existing National Donor Memorial and conversations with multiple stakeholders in the donation community. What came to fruition was a common thread; organ donation creates ripples in families and communities. The mural was designed to overlook and reflect the existing memorial garden that is dedicated to those who helped save lives through the gift of organ donations.

Commissioned by Girls for a Change, this project sits in the heart of Richmond Virginia’s Arts District. Their mission is to empower and support girls of color to enact social change and to work for a brighter future for black women. As a longtime partner of the organization Hamilton has worked with the girls on various projects, so when it came time to do a mural he was excited to take on the challenge.
The mural is 120’w x 20’h and represents the Girls for a Change slogan of Changing the Narrative. Hamilton worked with Girl Action teams composed of high school girls in the program over 12 weeks to help facilitate and bring together the girls’ ideas from their experiences and also conversations with community members and city officials.

In 2013 The Light of Human Kindness Project was an innovative public art installation in Richmond, Virginia , led by Patience Salgado and artist Hamilton Glass, featuring a mural with 1,000 LED lights that illuminated in real-time as people shared stories of kindness online or committed acts of kindness inspired by the mural, using conductive paint and tech to create a tangible, interactive experience of human connection and hope against darkness

In 2023 VCU Massey Cancer Center partnered with Richmond artist Hamilton Glass to create vibrant, custom artwork for their "Massey on the Move" mobile health vans, which deliver cancer education, screening, and resources directly to underserved Virginia communities, with Glass's design focusing on movement, DNA, and diverse, joyful people to promote hope and wellness
